Whether you work within one of our Specialist Art Departments, or in one of our more Operational teams, we are all working together with one common goal in mind: to continue the success of this 260 year old company, steeped in history, bringing fresh ideas whilst not forgetting our shared values: Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Responsibility & Relationships. Colleagues across all departments are truly passionate about what they do and it is inspiring to work with industry leaders across our business.

Why This Role Matters

The Art Technician provides technical art handling expertise and operational support across key King Street areas, including Incoming and Outgoing Goods, Collections, and Warehouse zones.

This role is responsible for maintaining and championing Christie’s art handling standards, ensuring all staff adhere to best practice across warehouse operations. The Art Technician plays a key role in managing the movement of property through Christie’s—from arrival and photography through to client viewings and sale preparation—while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting core business activities.

This is a varied and hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, organisation, and a proactive approach.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Manage the flow of client property, ensuring all items are correctly tagged, condition-checked, and movements accurately recorded in Christie’s inventory management system
  • Immediately report any damage, loss, or inventory discrepancies to the line manager
  • Support and work across all warehouse functions as required
  • Facilitate the photography process, including staging artworks and coordinating movement to and from studios
  • Provide logistical support to specialist departments during cataloguing and handling sessions
  • Prepare property for sale, including lotting and re-framing in line with sale requirements
  • Liaise with photographers, specialists, and external suppliers (including restorers) to ensure property is ready for catalogue and client viewing
  • Coordinate with Saleroom Operations to ensure timely transfer of property for sales
  • Support pre-sale view installations, advising on handling and installation requirements where needed
  • Maintain warehouse areas in accordance with 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain), ensuring high standards of organisation and cleanliness
  • Conduct bi-annual physical stock checks
  • Collaborate with Inventory Management and specialist teams to ensure accurate location tracking and appropriate processing of all property
  • Provide technical expertise and cross-departmental support as required
  • Take ownership of personal training and development, contributing to team knowledge sharing
  • Uphold and work in line with Christie’s core values and policies

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
