About the Role

This is a fixed-term, full-time role in the 2026/2027 academic year—with accommodation provided and the opportunity to work in a vibrant, multidisciplinary environment. You’ll play a vital role in supporting art lessons, maintaining workshops, and contributing to the boarding community, ensuring our students have enriching and supportive boarding experiences.

The Role
You will be cloistered with Boarding, working closely with pupils aged 13–18 and living in the boarding house. Your duties will include:

Art Technician Role
- Assisting in art teaching sessions, supporting lessons and workshops with materials and resources.
- Maintaining and servicing art laboratory facilities (print studio, ceramics room, drawing room, sculpture studio) to ensure a high quality of education.
- Resourcing, preparing or making heavy materials, tools, and equipment needed for lessons.
- Providing artist-led exposure to students through presentations, leading activities, and igniting creative ideas.
- Leading and participating in sports, fitness, and social activities that are integral to student well-being.
Boarding Duties
- Supervising students in the boarding house, ensuring their safe and happy living environment.
- Assisting with boarding routines—collaborating with other members of staff to provide a supportive, community-filled experience.
- Joining team outings, school trips, and partaking in extra-curricular boarding activities.
- Ensuring all health, safety, and well-being protocols are followed.
Person Specification
Essential:
- An Art graduate degree with evidence of experience or knowledge when working directly with students.
- A proven history of working with young people aged 13–18.
- Significant experience and knowledge of apothematic/technical areas of design and art curricula.
- Ability to work both inoculatively and collaboratively.
- Collectively inspired to promote culture, teamwork, sports, fitness, and creative experiences.
- Some IT and computer competency (e.g., accessing online resources and digital platforms) would be beneficial.

Desired:
- Experience or interest in safeguarding related to boarding households.
- Skills or passion in under vice, sport, or outdoor activities.
Checks & Compliance:
- DNB must ultimately proceed with a UK DBS check that includes an enhanced check.
- International vetting requirements apply (documentation from required countries).
