Job Title: AI Innovation Engineer
Location: Manchester, UK
Experience: 5–8 Years
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AI Innovation Engineer to bridge the gap between research and production. You will take AI prototypes, machine learning models, and validated concepts from R&D and transform them into scalable, reliable, and production-ready solutions.
Working closely with AI researchers, product managers, data analysts, and engineering teams, you will build and operate real-time AI-powered systems while maintaining high standards for software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform AI prototypes and research concepts into production-grade applications.
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain AI-driven systems that are scalable, secure, observable, and reliable.
- Develop and operate real-time personalization, recommendation, search, and ranking systems within defined latency requirements.
- Build and support LLM-powered applications and other AI/ML-driven products.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), monitoring, and automated testing.
- Ensure production systems meet performance, reliability, scalability, and security standards.
- Measure, monitor, and improve AI model performance using experimentation and data-driven approaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Product, Data Analytics, and Engineering.
- Drive engineering best practices, code quality, observability, and operational excellence across AI solutions.

Required Experience
- 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in TypeScript with working knowledge of Python.
- Proven experience delivering AI, Machine Learning, or data-driven products into production.
- Experience building solutions such as:
- Recommendation Engines
- Search & Ranking Systems
- Personalization Platforms
- LLM-powered Applications
- Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services.
- Strong understanding of:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Monitoring and Observability
- Experience developing high-performance, low-latency, real-time systems.
- Experience evaluating AI model performance and driving improvements through experimentation and analytics.
