Artificial Intelligence Engineer
Senior AI Prompt Engineer
Location: London
6 Month Contract £600 P/D
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior AI Prompt Engineer to join a client delivering enterprise-scale AI solutions across software engineering, automation, and business transformation initiatives.
This is a senior technical role requiring deep expertise in prompt engineering, AI-assisted software development, and automation. The successful candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Claude (Claude Code), alongside a strong background in software engineering, PowerShell scripting, and enterprise automation.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality prompt strategies while developing secure, scalable, production-ready AI-enabled solutions that enhance developer productivity and business workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, optimise, and maintain advanced prompt libraries and prompt engineering frameworks for:
- Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Copilot Extensions)
- GitHub Copilot (code generation, code review, refactoring, and developer productivity)
- Claude / Claude Code
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate enterprise processes, system integrations, and AI-driven workflows.
- Build, implement, and support AI-powered automation pipelines and developer tooling.
- Design, develop, review, and maintain secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
- Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into enterprise platforms, applications, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Establish prompt engineering standards, governance, best practices, and reusable design patterns.
- Evaluate AI solution quality, performance, security, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and business teams to deliver AI-enabled capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering teams where required.

- Demonstrable senior-level experience in AI Prompt Engineering.
- Hands-on commercial experience with:
- Microsoft Copilot
- GitHub Copilot
- Claude / Claude Code
- Strong background in software engineering, automation, and AI-assisted development.
- Extensive experience developing enterprise PowerShell scripts for automation, administration, and systems integration.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages:
- Python
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- C#
- PowerShell
- Experience designing and implementing AI-assisted developer workflows, AI agents, or copilot solutions.
- Strong understanding of secure software development practices and enterprise engineering standards.
