A large, well-established technology company with a dedicated AI Centre of Excellence—a standalone team focused purely on applied research and AI-powered product builds, leveraging the latest Microsoft AI technology.
The Role
This is a technical leadership position within a small, AI-first engineering team dedicated to building genuine AI-powered products, not just mechanistic AI integrations.

Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, planning, and delivery for AI/ML-powered products, including:
- Model integration and evaluation
- Prompt engineering
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
- Coach and develop junior engineers in AI/ML best practices
- No billable workload—pure focus on applied AI innovation
Requirements
Essential
- Strong hands-on experience in Python or C#/.NET, with real-world AI/ML product experience (e.g., model integration, prompt engineering, evaluation, RAG)
- Technical leadership skills—proven track record of architecting, planning, and delivering complex AI/ML systems, with a history of mentoring junior engineers
- Experience with Azure AI services (e.g., Azure OpenAI Service, Microsoft Foundry, Cognitive Services) or equivalent cloud AI platforms

Desirable
- Familiarity with the Microsoft agent ecosystem (e.g., Agent Framework, Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Agents SDK, Semantic Kernel)
- Understanding of responsible AI practices—content filtering, PII handling, bias testing, agent governance
- Experience with vector databases or search indices
