Marie Curie – Dementia Awareness & Training Project Role

About Marie Curie

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. As the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, we deliver community nursing, hospice care, and specialised information on dying, death, and bereavement. Our groundbreaking research advances end-of-life care, while our campaigns advocate for a society where everyone has access to high-quality care during illness and dying.

Despite our impact—reaching around 10% of dying people who need our support—one in four terminally ill individuals in the UK still misses out on essential care at the end of life. To address this, Marie Curie has outlined a five-year mission to close the gap through:

  • Expanding and transforming direct care and support
  • Providing practical information and training
  • Leading the reinvention of the end-of-life experience

We are now seeking an experienced professional to drive a time-limited, high-impact dementia awareness, training, and advance care planning initiative, working closely with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

The Opportunity

This project-focused role differs from traditional clinical work. You’ll play a critical part in shaping dementia and end-of-life care across Wales by:

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and delivering dementia awareness and training sessions tailored for non-clinical staff
  • Promoting advance care planning conversations, supporting their development and implementation
  • Acting as an ambassador for Marie Curie’s dementia and end-of-life care work internally and externally
  • Attending events, conferences, and presentations, sharing best practice to raise awareness
  • Engaging across the Cardiff & Vale region to expand the reach of Marie Curie’s services

This role is not a clinical caseload position but instead centres on education, engagement, and systemic influence.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
