Asbestos Surveyor
Role Overview
As an Asbestos Surveyor at SGS, you will conduct asbestos consultancy and surveying activities across the UK (ideally in the Midlands area). Your role involves:
- Providing expert advice on asbestos risks to ensure clients meet legal, safety, and compliance standards.
- Preparing high-quality reports, adhering to internal procedures, and driving continuous professional development.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct asbestos surveys, safely sample suspect materials, and record findings in compliance with job instructions and internal protocols.
- Assess identified asbestos risks, advise clients on removal or safe management strategies, and offer ongoing compliance support.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure:
- Effective communication and timely reporting.
- Resolution of on-site issues and concerns.
- Support quality assurance activities, including:
- Audits.
- Corrective actions.
- Contribute to contínual improvements and uphold best practice standards.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Certification or qualification in asbestos surveying (e.g., BOHS P402).
- Proven experience as an Asbestos Surveyor, preferably in a similar role or environment.
- Strong knowledge of asbestos-related legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate recording and documentation.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with:
- Survey software.
- Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to:
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid UK driving license with willingness to:
- Travel frequently to client sites across the UK.
