Reporting to the Asbestos Survey Team Manager, this position involves delivering asbestos management services to Hampshire County Council and external partners.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting on-site asbestos surveys and asbestos air monitoring under HSG264 and HSG248
  • Liaising with contractors, building professionals, and project teams to deliver high-quality compliance services
  • Supporting project planning, administration, and health & safety assessments
  • Participating in service development, including future asbestos management initiatives
  • Potentially contributing to drone services and colleague training

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality asbestos management services by conducting surveys and air monitoring, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Support the County Council’s asbestos reinspection program
  • Collaborate with planners and project teams to coordinate site visits and deliver projects efficiently
  • Act as a key on-site contact, liaising with contractors and building professionals to ensure clear communication
  • Manage project logistics, including health & safety assessments, risk management, and timely report completion
  • Contribute to service improvement, using your expertise to shape future asbestos safety strategies
  • Provide mentorship and training to colleagues, fostering a skilled and capable team

Skills & Qualifications
  • Essential:

    • Fulfil at least P402 Asbestos Survey Wirtschaftsprütreeine certification (preferably P403, P404, or a Certificate of Competence in Asbestos)
    • Demonstrate competence in asbestos bulk sample analysis (or hold P401), including air monitoring capabilities
    • Industry experience in on-site project management and contractor liaison
    • Strong communication skills to interact with contractors, clients, and technical teams
    • Technical knowledge of asbestos legislation (HSG264, HSG248) and industry best practices
  • Beneficial:

    • Experience with CAD software
    • Personal Professional Development (PPD) initiatives for continuous upskilling
