ASHL League Convener – Canlan Sports

Role Summary
Canlan Sports is seeking a positive, team-oriented ASHL League Convener with exceptional communication skills. In this role, you’ll deliver exceptional customer experiences and support Canlan leagues while serving as the bridge between teams and facility management.
Salary: $43,680 – $45,760 per year
Responsibilities
Finance & Administrative
- Collect league registration fees for teams and individuals while adhering to payment policies and best practices.
Operations Support
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of Hockey Canada/USA Hockey rules (essential).
- Monitor online statistics hardware/software, including consumer features and administrative tools.
- Generate bi-weekly or monthly schedules for timekeepers using booking protocols; drafts require League Manager and Facility Referee-in-Chief approval.
- Complete daily Convenor Reports to provide key updates to the League Manager.
- Assist in suspension assessments, communication, and enforcement while adhering to suspension guidelines.
- Ensure players complete waivers before participation.

Community & Liaison
- Liaise with team representatives, referees, timekeepers, and spectators as needed.
- Assist in the execution of prize presentations during league events.
Technical & Brand Compliance
- Understand and leverage Canlan’s brand advantages and online tools.
- Maintain proficiency in CRM software (DASH) and other Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel and Word).
Experience & Qualifications
Key Requirements
✔ Essential:
- In-depth knowledge of hockey rules (Hockey Canada/USA Hockey).
- At least 1 year of experience in a hockey-related operations role.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings & weekends).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

✔ Preferred:
- Working knowledge of tournament draws.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Formal education in Sports/Leisure Administration.
