Air Source Heat Pump Engineer

Aura is a leading renewable energy installer delivering Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), Solar PV, Battery Storage, and energy efficiency solutions across the UK.
As an MCS-accredited installer, we design, install, and maintain high-performance renewable energy systems that help homeowners and businesses reduce energy costs, lower carbon emissions, and take control of their energy future.
Following significant growth and expansion, we are looking for experienced Air Source Heat Pump Engineers to join our Operations and Delivery Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a growing pipeline of domestic and commercial heat pump installations across the UK.
The Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Air Source Heat Pump Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, servicing, and fault-finding of ASHP systems.
The role will involve working closely with our Design, Engineering, and Project Management teams to deliver high-quality installations in accordance with MCS standards and manufacturer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of Air Source Heat Pump systems, including hydraulic and plumbing works
- Commissioning and optimisation of ASHP systems
- Service, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of installed heat pumps
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments
- Ensure compliance with MCS, Building Regulations, and Health & Safety requirements
- Complete installation and commissioning documentation
- Support customer handovers and provide technical guidance to customers
- Work closely with Design, Operations, and Project Management teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Liaise with manufacturers regarding technical issues and warranty support
- Support continuous improvement of installation standards and processes

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience installing and commissioning Air Source Heat Pumps
- Strong plumbing and heating background
- Experience working with Vaillant, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Samsung, NIBE, or equivalent heat pump manufacturers
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults
- Strong understanding of domestic heating systems, controls, and hot water systems
- Knowledge of MCS standards and renewable heating technologies
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills

Desirable Qualifications
- Heat Pump Installation Qualification
- Unvented Hot Water Certification (G3)
- Water Regulations Certification
- F-Gas Certification (especially beneficial for split systems and air conditioning installations)
- Part P / Electrical awareness
- Experience with MVHR systems
- Experience with Solar PV and Battery Storage systems
