About the Role
The askUS Enquiries Team provides the frontline staffing for askUS, offering 20 hours per week during standard operational hours. This is a key role in supporting the Student Experience & Support (SES) department within the University of Salford, including:

Core service hours: Mondays - Thursdays: 8am – 6pm Fridays: 8am – 5pm

Part-time hours: 10am – 3pm, Monday – Friday
Note: Colleagues will also work on-campus in multiple locations, including MediaCity UK.
Responsibilities
Core Duties & Customer Focus
- Deliver a personalised, expert service to all customers: students, staff, and external partners.
- Provide a first-class experience as the primary point of contact and:
- Use multi-channel communication (face-to-face, phone, email, digital platforms).
- Respond in agile/roaming settings, ensuring efficient customer resolution with ownership of each interaction.
- Work with a wide range of customers from diverse backgrounds with empathy and inclusivity.
Service & Resource Management
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all askUS services, ensuring colleagues provide consistent, high-quality support.
- Capture and track customer information during all interactions to:
- Enhance service understanding and align the askUS provision to customer needs.
- Facilitate improvements through timely feedback collection (paper, digital, focus groups).

Operational Delivery & Collaboration
- Support cross-team collaboration within SES across different service teams (Careers, Enterprise, Student Support & Student Engagement).
- Guide students to relevant information, services, and resources that strengthen their student experience.
- Handle ICT systems efficiently, performing administrative duties necessary for seamless service delivery.
- Address and escalate issues (facilities, health & safety, or customer behaviour) with prompt resolution.
- Participate in collaborative projects, as directed.
