Pump Assembler

Job Summary

IR build & test a range of hydraulic gear pumps which are mainly used for lubrication. We are currently looking to recruit an assembler/tester to join the Ilkeston team. Daily tasks will involve building standard pumps & testing on fully automated test rigs. This is a very interesting role which covers 3 value streams with a typical batch size of 20 units. A full training & onboarding plan will be put together for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Build a range of gear pumps following internal SW instructions.
  • Test a range of gear pumps using automated test rigs, following SW instructions.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks of tooling and basic workshop equipment following SW instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, logging test data and serial number of pumps, parts used, and time spent.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Full onboard training, following a training plan for the right candidate.

Basic Qualifications and Experience

  • Some experience in pump assembly or mechanical fitting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Experience with hand tools, and measuring equipment such as dial indicators, callipers, verniers
