Assessment Officer
Are you looking for your next career move as an Assessment Officer, where you can support people, build valuable skills, and be part of a fast-paced digital environment?
Transformative Business Services (TBS) works with some of the largest Government and Public Sector clients in the UK, delivering high-quality recruitment support services that help shape future talent.
We’re looking for confident, tech-savvy individuals to join a dynamic and fast-paced assessment delivery team. You’ll play a key role in delivering live, online assessments using platforms such as Sova and Microsoft Teams, managing multiple channels and supporting candidates throughout the process. Strong IT skills are essential, as you’ll be working across several systems simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
You’ll be supported from day one with a comprehensive two-day training programme, followed by hands-on shadowing with an experienced mentor to help you build confidence and capability. Everything you need – from scoring guidance to scripts – is fully integrated into the Sova platform, with clear processes in place to ensure consistency and quality.
This role suits individuals with strong organisational skills, excellent timekeeping, and an understanding of behavioural and strengths-based assessments.
If you thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy working with technology, and are committed to delivering a high-quality candidate experience, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
What you need to know:
- Full-time, 24-month fixed-term role. Candidates must be based within commuting distance of Newport, Wakefield or Croydon. This is a hybrid role requiring regular on-site attendance (approximately once per month). Please note this is not a flexible location role, and travel expenses for office attendance are not covered. Working patterns are aligned to assessment schedules.
- This role requires experience in assessment delivery (e.g. recruitment, interviewing, or structured candidate assessment).
- Full training provided on systems including SOVA and MS Teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
