Job Description
We have a great opportunity for a qualified and motivated Asset Engineering Technician (AET) – Track & Civil, to join the Engineering and Maintenance Delivery team. Based in Sydenham or Tallawong and reporting to our Maintenance and Delivery Manager -Track and Civil, this role will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance, defect management and remedial works for the Track Maintenance Team.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Delivery of TMP based maintenance for track and points inspections and certifications tasks against the technical maintenance plan and contract requirements.
- Activities Include Track Patrols, Turnout Inspections, Ultrasonic Testing, Defect Management and Defect Removal, Risk Management, Scoping of Planned Works, Track Vehicle Operations.
- Identifying and actioning opportunities for improvement across the service provision of maintenance service providers including in the areas of TMP compliance, efficiency, quality of work, use of Ellipse and FSM, safety focused.
- Ability to prioritise tasks to achieve objectives within agreed timeframes and to required standards.
- Assist in the development of the Annual Work Program.
- Respond to emergency maintenance in a timely and prompt manner.
- Maintain positive relationships, influence and negotiate with key stakeholders.
- Actively participate in safety talks and other team safety activities.
- Review and assist in the preparation of SWMS and safety plans, ensuring that methods always identify good practice in safety and efficiency.

Desired Skills And Experience
About You
You are proactive with a strong work ethic and adaptable with demonstrated work experience in the rail infrastructure sector. You have significant exposure to the delivery of Track maintenance and strong experience in inspecting and certifying track and turnouts and hold qualifications in Certificate II and III in Rail, qualified Track Certifier and TMO qualifications. Qualifications are mandatory.
