THE OPPORTUNITY – ASSET INTEGRITY AUTHORITY
The Asset Integrity Authority is accountable for ensuring that asset integrity risks are identified, assessed, and controlled throughout the asset lifecycle. The role provides technical authority over integrity management systems, standards, and performance, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements to maintain safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Duration: 2-year contract
Contract Type: PAYE
Day Rate: TBC - For your application to be progressed, please ensure you provide a PAYE day rate banding expectation. Please note that there is no travel and accommodation allowance provided.

Spirit Energy currently have a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for all office-based workers. 4 days must be worked in the office with compulsory days being Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The fourth day worked in-office (either Monday or Friday) is of the worker’s choosing but should be in keeping with what is most efficient and effective for their team. The office is open 5 days a week for full time, in-office working if this is the contractor’s preference.

AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT…
In role, you will be required to:
- Act as the technical and competent authority for asset integrity, providing oversight and assurance across mechanical, structural, corrosion, and process containment disciplines.
- Define, own, and maintain the Asset Integrity Management Framework, including policies, standards, and procedures.
- Ensure asset integrity risks are identified, assessed, and managed in line with company risk appetite.
- Analyse trends and reporting of reliability data for safety-critical elements of equipment maintenance for the assets.
- Analyse trends on failures of safety-critical equipment, see maintenance activities and maintenance-related HSEQ issues, to provide insight into root causes and recommend actions that will mitigate operational and HSEQ risks, prevent or minimize future failures, and reduce costs.
- Develop and produce asset integrity reports, in accordance with the asset BMS, MMS, and HSEQ reporting and corporate requirements, to inform management and contribute to decision-making.
- Utilise SAP to interrogate planned maintenance routines and corrective maintenance.
- Assist discipline engineers in the investigation of failures, where required.
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis investigations and actions close-out.
- Manage IVB (Lloyds) and other third party reliability studies, or contractors as required.
- Demonstrate that the maintenance integrity procedures meet required HSEQ standards and that the company has the necessary focus, information and insight, systems, processes and procedures, in order to support CE&P in operating safely and effectively.
- Administer, manage, and monitor asset integrity and written verification activities.
- Provide input to maintenance strategies, including condition-based monitoring for Asset equipment.
- Response support to Asset Integrity Leads.
- Act as a Lead investigator using Kelvin TopSet investigation techniques to support business requirements.
- Any other associated duties as reasonably required.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
- Someone conversant with UK regulatory environmental standards, and industry best practice.
- The ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of engineering principles and practical application.
- Knowledge of QA/QC principles, applicable legislation, and HSEQ standards (ISO, OHSAS).
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems and familiarity with verification schemes.
- Degree qualified in an engineering or technology discipline.
- Chartered Engineer.
- Experience in event management and investigation training such as Kelvin TopSet.
