Role Overview

The Asset & Liability Model Development Lead will spearhead the technical development, feature refinement, and precision of Y TREE’s core financial life projection engine. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing advanced financial logic and executing software engineering frameworks.
  • Translating business needs and client requirements into cutting-edge modelling capabilities.
  • Managing the asset liability modelling (ALM) release pipeline while collaborating with Client, Product, and Development teams.
  • Ensuring models align with continuous system updates, market changes, and client-facing demands.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Modelling

  • Lead the integration of sophisticated financial models into Y TREE’s digital advice platform.
  • Turn complex financial concepts into intuitive, user-friendly frameworks for clients and internal teams.
  • Guarantee models are scalable, adaptive, and capable of handling ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) complexities.
  • Innovate alongside industry trends in advisory finance and financial strategy.

Execution & Operations

  • Architect and validate Y TREE’s calculation engine by establishing systems for data integrity and anomaly resolution.
  • Partner with development teams to streamline ALM releases, ensuring precise parameter deployment.
  • Define reliable, market-aligned updates of models to accommodate client demands.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Translate Client Team requests into clear, buildable specifications for the modelling engine.
  • Work closely with Product teams to embed models within emerging features.
  • Provide technical guidance on ALM assumptions and decision-making to internal stakeholders.

Research & Development

  • Monitor industry innovations, financial modelling trends, and AI/ML applications in finance.
  • Identify opportunities for competitive differentiation through advanced financial analytics.

About You

Experience & Background

  • Up to 4 years in financial services, ideally in risk management or financial modelling.
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or CFA sponsorship preferred but not required).
  • Python coding proficiency, with advanced Excel skills for portfolio analytics.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Experience in client-facing financial interactions (advantageous, but not mandatory).
  • Deep knowledge of portfolio construction, investment risk management, and ALM frameworks.
  • Strong analytical mindset with passion for solving complex financial problems.
