Asset & Liability Model Development Lead
Our Client
A rapidly growing WealthTech business is seeking an Asset & Liability Model Development Lead to play a key role in the evolution of its proprietary financial modelling platform.
This position sits at the intersection of financial modelling, technology, and product development, helping to design and enhance sophisticated financial planning tools that deliver actionable insights to clients. The successful candidate will work closely with Product, Development, and Client teams to translate complex wealth planning requirements into scalable modelling solutions.
The Role
- Lead the development and enhancement of sophisticated asset and liability modelling frameworks.
- Design, build, and integrate financial models into digital wealth planning and advice platforms.
- Translate complex financial concepts into intuitive and practical modelling solutions.
- Ensure models remain scalable, robust, and adaptable to changing client requirements and market conditions.
- Enhance calculation engine architecture and establish validation processes to maintain model integrity.
- Manage the Asset Liability Modelling (ALM) release pipeline and deployment of updates.
- Work closely with development teams to deliver new functionality and system improvements.
- Translate business and client requirements into detailed model specifications.
- Collaborate with Product teams to embed financial intelligence into new platform features.
- Provide technical guidance on modelling assumptions, behaviours, and methodologies.
- Research industry developments, financial modelling best practices, and emerging technology trends to support ongoing innovation.

The Successful Candidate
- Up to 4 years' experience within financial services, ideally in financial modelling, investment analysis, or risk management.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, portfolio construction, investment risk, and asset-liability modelling.
- Proficiency in Python and advanced Excel.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Experience translating complex financial concepts into practical business solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Highly detail-oriented with a passion for improving financial modelling capabilities.

Desirable
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree and/or CFA qualification (or progress towards completion).
- Experience within Wealth Management, Financial Planning, Investments, FinTech, or WealthTech environments.
- Knowledge of software development processes and financial modelling engines.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, or behavioural finance concepts.
