Team Overview
The Asset & Liability Model Development Lead is responsible for the technical development, feature refinement, and structural precision of Y TREE’s core financial life projection engine. To achieve this, they will focus on designing advanced financial logic, executing software engineering frameworks, and translating frontline business needs into model capabilities.
Their focus is on translating intricate wealth planning architecture into codebase specifications, maintaining a structured asset liability modelling (ALM) release pipeline, and managing functional requirements directly with client-facing teams. They will work collaboratively with the Client, Product, and core Development teams to ensure the evolution of our proprietary engines is directly aligned with real-world client modelling demands and systemic platform enhancements.
The Role
Strategic Financial Modelling:
- Lead the design, development, and integration of sophisticated financial models into Y TREE's digital advice platform and product experiences.
- Translate complex financial concepts into intuitive and actionable models that can be easily consumed by both clients and internal teams.
- Ensure models are robust, scalable, and adaptable to evolving market conditions and client needs, particularly for UHNW complexities.

Execution & Operations:
- Enhance the architecture of Y TREE's calculation engine, establishing robust validation frameworks to systematically resolve model anomalies and safeguard data integrity.
- Partner with development teams to manage the ALM release pipeline, ensuring model parameters are reliably deployed and aligned with market updates.
Cross-Functional Integration & Empowerment:
- Support translation of Client Team feature requests and advice requirements into precise, buildable engine specifications.
- Collaborate closely with the Product team to embed financial models into new features and ensure efficient development of our calculation engines.
- Provide technical guidance on asset liability modelling behavior and assumptions to empower internal stakeholders across the business.
Research & Development:
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, academic research, and emerging technologies in financial modelling, AI/ML applications in finance, and behavioural economics to continually enhance Y TREE's capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and competitive differentiation through advanced financial intelligence.
About You
Experience:
- Up to 4 years of experience in the financial industry, ideally within a risk management or financial modelling capacity.
Qualifications:
- Degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree and/or CFA qualification (or progression toward) is a plus but not required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in coding language (Python in particular).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel for portfolio analytics and data manipulation.
Client Experience:
- Experience in client-facing interactions is useful but not required.
- Understanding of financial planning analysis with sophisticated clients is a must.
