Group Asset Life Cycle Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a Group Asset Life Cycle Engineer to support the effective management of in-service assets by ensuring asset life-cycle plans, risks, and maintenance strategies remain aligned to operational needs.
The role sits within the Operate & Maintain part of the Asset Management Framework and focuses on translating asset life-cycle intent into clear, practical plans that support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
You will work closely with operations, maintenance, planning, and reliability colleagues to ensure asset plans remain current, risk-based, and deliverable.
Responsibilities
As an Asset Life Cycle Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and updating asset life-cycle plans for operational assets
- Supporting the development and upkeep of Asset Operation & Care Plans
- Ensuring asset risks, condition, and performance are reflected in maintenance and operational plans
- Coordinating inputs from operations, maintenance, planning, and reliability teams into a single, comprehensive view of asset needs
- Supporting asset criticality assessments and risk reviews at the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) level
- Reviewing asset performance, condition, and defect data to identify emerging issues
- Supporting the prioritisation of maintenance and capital maintenance activities based on asset need and risk
- Ensuring asset data within the CMMS/EAM system remains accurate and fit for purpose
- Providing operational input into capital maintenance scopes and asset replacement decisions
- Supporting continuous improvement through feedback from execution and operational learning

Requirements
You will have experience working with operational assets in an asset-intensive environment, with a strong understanding of asset management and maintenance processes.
Essential qualifications and skills include:
- Experience in asset management, maintenance engineering, or operational engineering roles
- A clear understanding of Asset Management, preferably with an IAM certification
- Knowledge of asset life-cycle concepts and risk-based decision-making
- Ability to interpret asset performance, condition, and maintenance data
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across functions
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills
- Familiarity with CMMS/EAM systems, including MS Dynamics
- The ability to balance short-term operational pressures with long-term asset needs
A degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience is desirable.
