Introduction
Are you a property professional with strong knowledge of asset management principles, stock evaluation methods ,lifecycle and capital investment planning ?
Do you have significant experience in developing and delivering Asset Management strategies, planned works programmes and long-term investment plans?
Do you have experience managing or influencing multi-disciplinary teams, consultants , contractors , internal and external stakeholders?
Do you have the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of governance and data accuracy?
What’s the role? …
Lewisham Council are looking for an Asset Manager who will be responsible for the overall development and delivery of the Asset Management strategy for Housing Quality & Investment. You will be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver planned, capital and compliance programmes using stock condition, performance and financial data to prioritise investment, manage risk and maximise asset value. You will act as a key advisor to Senior Leadership, balancing resident outcomes, statutory obligations and budget restraints.

What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in asset management within a local authority or social housing environment.
- Strong understanding of housing regulation, building safety, compliance, and investment planning.
- Ability to use asset data and financial analysis to inform strategic decisions and long‑term programmes.
- Demonstrable leadership and excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with contractors, clients and stakeholders.
- Sound commercial awareness, balancing value for money with resident outcomes and statutory duties.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of governance and data accuracy.

Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
Special conditions
- Degree‑level qualification or experience in Asset Management, Construction, Surveying, Housing, Property, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Some evening and weekend resident focussed event attendance may be required
- The job is subject to a Basic DBS check

Salary
£64,938 - £69,660 per annum (SMG1)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
