Asset Manager
Salary: c. £60,000
Hours: Full time - 35 hours
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid Working (40% Head Office, West Bromwich)
The West Brom are looking to recruit an Asset Manager to join our IT Service team. This is a critical role within our Chief Information Officer function and you will be responsible for developing and owning the tooling, end-to-end process of managing IT assets to ensure they are used, maintained, upgraded, and decommissioned at the end of their life cycle. You will also be responsible for managing and monitoring software compliance, licensing and maintenance of IT hardware and the software Asset Register.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, support and improve the software and IT hardware governance processes and procedures across the business to improve the data collection.
- Support the implementation of the new CMDB and replacement Asset management tooling. Populate and maintain a hardware and software Asset Management database.
- Through the use of the asset management tools, monitor and manage hardware and software assets to ensure the required information is captured and is current and correct and provides a single source of truth ensuring accurate recording and reporting of all IT assets.
- Manage software compliance and license utilisation to ensure the most effective software licence agreements are achieved and that we remain compliant of its licence agreements, and reduce the cost through the central management of software licenses, aiding in the purchase process and allowing for underutilised licenses to be removed or relocated.
- Manage any financial and compliance risks and/or issues raised on IT assets.
- Manage the software onboarding process effectively by triaging software requests and providing approvals after reviewing the licence position.
- Undertake internal audits of hardware and software assets as required, providing regular MI on overall compliance to minimize the risk to the business.
- Engagement with external 3rd party suppliers and ensuring all Assets are managed effectively and best practice followed.

Skills and Experience Required:
- Technical expertise with regard to understanding software deployment, management, licensing and contracts.
- Experience in implementing, configuring & developing a ITAM tool preferably Lansweeper. SNOW experience would also be beneficial.
- Experience in analysing and presenting data to senior management.
- Strong knowledge of IT software and hardware as well as demonstrable experience in working in an IT Asset Analyst or similar type role.
- In depth knowledge of licensing agreements involving software, including Microsoft, Oracle etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- ITIL Foundation or higher.
- An Industry Certification such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or Certified Hardware Asset Management will be an advantage.
- IT Risk Management awareness.
- Ability to work collaboratively while recommending decisions and risks and the reasoning behind them.
