The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Asset Manager to join the team here at Unite Students. This role can be based in either Bristol or London.

Our vision is to be the UK's leading living platform for young people. We are achieving this through operational excellence, targeted investment in our properties, and continued growth in the UK's strongest student markets.

We invest more than £50 million each year across our £10 billion Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) portfolio to enhance the customer experience, protect our assets, and drive long-term value.

Our Asset Management team plays a pivotal role in shaping these investments. As an Asset Manager, reporting to the Head of Asset & Fund Management, you will take ownership of a regional portfolio, developing and delivering investment strategies that maximize performance and support our Group Strategy.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and deliver city and asset strategies that maximize portfolio performance and support our Group, Fund and Joint Venture objectives.
  • Shape capital investment priorities across the Unite Students and Hello Student portfolios to drive long-term value.
  • Identify and deliver asset enhancement opportunities, including refurbishments, reconfigurations and repositioning initiatives.
  • Drive rental growth, improve the customer experience and manage sustainability and lifecycle investment across your portfolio.
  • Identify underperforming assets and develop strategies to improve, reposition or dispose of them.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop investment business cases, secure approvals and deliver successful projects.
  • Build strong relationships with university partners to unlock value and strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Play a key role in regional leadership, supporting acquisitions, disposals, refinancing and wider portfolio strategy.
  • Work with commercial teams to ensure all commercial aspects of any asset management activity are considered and the best possible support is provided to the business.
  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with the Asset Management function and other business and finance stakeholders.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the business, our strategy, activities of our competitors; keep up to date with trends and best practice within own professional area.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
