Job Description

The Vacancy

Full-time: 37hrs per week

Proposed Interview Date: TBC

We have an exciting opportunity for an Asset Surveyor to undertake asset surveys of the property portfolio to determine the scope of work required, considering stock condition, Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS), Decent Homes (DH) and Energy Efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Ensure that all relevant information is captured and uploaded into the Asset Management System (C365).
  • Responsible for the effective collection of data relating to Decent Homes, HHSRS, housing component conditions and lifecycles, and the assessment/rating of stock.
  • Responsible for collecting property information in line with survey demands, properties in line with program requirements, and operating plans.
  • Assist with gathering property data relating to Health and safety, compliance sustainability and asbestos.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

Education and Qualifications:

  • A recognized construction-related qualification such as Assoc RICS, MRICS or an HNC level in Building Surveying, building pathology, Building Studies / Construction, or equivalent level of experience.

Experience

  • Experience in stock condition surveys in the Social Housing sector.
  • Experience and understanding of residential construction methods and domestic services.

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities

  • A good understanding of the Decent Homes Standard and the Health and Safety Rating System along with a good understanding or qualification in asbestos management, sampling, or removal such as a P402 qualification.
  • Ability to maintain and develop relationships with colleagues and customers to provide stock condition data, repair requests and general information.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also able to work independently without the need for close supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritize workload and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Possess an elevated level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver solutions to problems that are sensible, practical, and proportionate to the risk.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, possessing the ability to liaise with various audiences both in writing and verbally.
  • Good IT skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

We are a housing association based in Norfolk providing quality homes and services to people across the county and in Suffolk.

We manage over 6,000 homes including affordable homes for those in housing need who cannot afford to rent or buy in the open market.
