Assistant Accountant – Multiple Locations Across Northern Ireland

We are currently working with a range of clients across Northern Ireland to recruit Assistant Accountants to join growing finance teams across multiple sectors.

These roles offer excellent opportunities for part-qualified or recently qualified candidates to:

  • Gain broad exposure across finance functions
  • Develop their technical skillset
  • Progress within supportive, well-structured environments

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with month-end close, including:
    • Journals
    • Accruals and prepayments
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations, including:
    • Bank reconciliation
    • Balance sheet reconciliation
    • Supplier and customer reconciliations
  • Processing:
    • Purchase and sales invoices
    • Payments and expenses
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Supporting VAT returns, audits, and compliance requirements
  • Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies

Criteria

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or working towards qualification
  • Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant / Accounts Assistant / Finance role
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
