Finning is the world's largest Caterpillar dealer. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer experiences and innovative solutions. We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team.
Job Description:
Are you a qualified accountant with a passion for precision and problem-solving? As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the senior finance team in delivering accurate financial information. You will provide guidance to junior team members and play a key role in system maintenance and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Finance Managers and Commercial Business Partners to ensure accurate monthly financial transactions.
- Liaise with operational teams to resolve financial queries promptly.
- Support junior staff, offering training and guidance to enhance team performance.
- Prepare and analyse monthly reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and quarterly financial estimates.
- Administer systems, including troubleshooting, testing new processes, and regular maintenance.
- Deliver ad-hoc reports and provide flexible support across the finance function.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Knowledge & Experience:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or finalist.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a finance department.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and financial accounting principles.
- Experience with SAP, DBS and Microsoft systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with dealership operations is beneficial.
Skills:
- Self-starter with leadership qualities and a team-first mindset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
