What You’ll Do

As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll support the delivery of all aspects of the finance function with a focus on the payables ledger. Your critical role ensures smooth operations and helps us stay ahead.

You’ll take ownership of work that delivers our competitive edge:

  • Regular supplier reconciliation – Identify missed or unpaid invoices in accounting records.
  • Invoice dispute management – Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve queries.
  • Invoice capturing & posting – Ensure accuracy in accounting software.
  • Purchase order (PO) compliance – Match invoices to POs and maintain month-end schedules.
  • Payment requisitions – Route, approve, and reconcile to outstanding invoices.
  • Remittance advice – Send weekly and ensure payments align with invoices or credit notes.
  • Credit card transaction handling – Process payments and raise POs.
  • Account reconciliation – Conduct weekly reconciliations of specified bank accounts.
  • Petty cash oversight – Daily management of petty cash funds.
  • Expense claims assistance – Help process employee expense requests.
  • Reporting & archival – Compile invoices and file monthly reports.
  • Post-room management – Oversee daily payment/incoming mail and inbox queries.
  • Finance team support – Manage team communications and quickly address queries.
  • Internal & external audits – Provide support during audits.
  • Navision maintenance – Review POs, archive records, set up new suppliers, and manage workflow changes.
  • Intergroup billing – Post and calculate intercompany invoices.
  • Financial reviews – Assist in monthly income statement commentary.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for collaborative, detail-oriented, resilient candidates with key attributes:

  • Clear, confident communication – Confidently articulate complex ideas both written and verbally.
  • Team mindset – Work seamlessly with cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
  • Organisational strength – Tackle multiple demands without compromise.
  • Attention to detail – Enthusiastic about quality and precision in work.
  • Adaptability – Maintain high performance in fast-paced environments.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency – Particularly strong Excel skills.
  • Numeracy excellence – Strong ability with numbers and financial calculations.
  • Accounting software knowledge – Preference for experience with Navision or similar platforms.

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Accounting degree or related qualification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision or Business Central.
  • SOX Compliance familiarity or internal controls expertise.
