Assistant Accountant
Assistant Accountant 12 month FTC Selby/hybrid – 1-2 days per week in the office

About the role: As part of the Finance Systems Team, the Assistant Accountant will;
- Support the Drax financial control framework, ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies, estimates and judgements.
- Assist with the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of manual journals.
- Prepare and reconcile key monthly balance sheet accounts, resolving any variances.
- Provide support on accounting and tax queries within the Business Unit.
- Manage transactional accounting, including processing bank statements across multiple entities and currencies.
- Accurately record treasury-related transactions within finance ledgers.
- Handle high-value postings with strong attention to detail and adherence to controls.

Who we’re looking for: To be successful in this role you’ll ideally have…
- A part-qualification - ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience).
- Strong attention to detail with a solid understanding of financial controls.
- Experience using financial systems.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated, confident, and flexible in approach.
- Adaptable, able to work independently and lead by example.
