Assistant Accountant Bolton - £30,000pa - £35,000pa
We are supporting a fantastic client based in Bolton looking for a proactive and hands on Assistant Accountant to play a key role in the day to day management of the finance function.
This role will report directly to the Finance Director and offers a broad range of responsibilities across financial reporting, cashflow management, payroll, compliance, process improvement, and commercial support.
This opportunity is really looking for someone with curiosity, drive, and a genuine desire to learn. The Finance Director is committed to developing the right person, so attitude and potential matter just as much as experience.

The role is 5 days based on site but offering flexible working hours.
Key Responsibilities of the role: Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts. Perform balance sheet reconciliations. Manage accruals, prepayments, and journal entries. Assist with weekly cashflow reporting and forecasting. Manage aged debtors and oversee credit control activities. Liaise with invoice finance providers. Support payroll processing and associated reconciliations. Manage PAYE, pension, and VAT submissions. Monitor and track employee bonus schemes. Act as a key contact for external payroll providers. Support the development of financial reporting through Xero and CRM systems.

Requirements of the role: Strong experience within a accounting finance role. Advanced Excel skills and experience using Xero or Sage. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities. Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Confident taking ownership of tasks, projects, and process improvements.
