Location: Manchester, UK — Hybrid

At Hologic, we’re passionate about improving lives through innovative medical technology. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team.

In this role, you will support the preparation of monthly management accounts, helping to ensure our financial reporting is accurate, reliable, and delivered on time.

What to expect:

As Assistant Accountant, you will play an important role in supporting the Finance team with month-end reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L analysis and commentary.
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Identifying and posting accruals and prepayments.
  • Completing daily bank reconciliations for GBP, EUR, and USD bank accounts.
  • Supporting the Management Accountant with monthly commentary files and quarterly reporting packs.
  • Assisting with audit queries and providing supporting documentation as required.
  • Preparing and posting payroll journals.
  • Maintaining robust financial controls and processes.
  • Challenging existing processes and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Carrying out ad hoc duties as required by management or to meet business needs.

What we expect:

  • An AAT qualification or a finance/accounting degree.
  • Drive and ambition to become a fully qualified finance professional.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to improve existing processes and controls.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and a structured, diligent way of working.
  • The ability to work effectively to tight deadlines.
  • A positive, enthusiastic mindset.
  • A collaborative, team-focused approach.
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role would be beneficial, but a strong willingness to learn and develop is equally important.

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 gross per year

The final offer will depend on experience, skills, and alignment with internal pay structures. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including pension and insurances.
