Assistant Group Accountant
Location: London (Hybrid Working)

Your new company
An internationally recognised professional services organisation is seeking an Assistant Group Accountant to join its FP&A function following an internal promotion. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional looking to develop their career within a complex, multi-entity environment while working closely with senior finance stakeholders and international offices.
Your new role
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will support the oversight of the general ledger and financial reporting process across multiple international locations. You will play a key role in month-end reporting, balance sheet reviews, financial analysis, budgeting and maintaining consistency of accounting practices across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing monthly management accounts submissions from international offices
- Analysing profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and reconciliation schedules
- Supporting month-end close processes and management accounting activities
- Reviewing bank reconciliations and ensuring robust financial controls
- Maintaining consistency of general ledger postings across the business
- Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assisting with external audit requests and internal control improvements
- Producing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for senior finance stakeholders
- Building strong relationships with finance teams across international offices
- Contributing to the continual improvement of financial processes and reporting procedures

What you'll need to succeed
- Part-qualified ACCA (or equivalent professional qualification)
- Experience working within a law firm or professional services environment
- Minimum two years' finance experience
- Strong general ledger experience with excellent attention to detail
- Previous exposure to management accounting and month-end processes
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
- Experience reviewing reconciliations and balance sheet controls
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
