Assistant Accountant – Entertainment (Central London)
Full-time | Hybrid (4 days in office)
Available salary £40-45k+study

A dynamic entertainment business based in Central London are looking to hire an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their growing in-house finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make their mark in a high-growth, fast-paced environment where finance plays a key role in supporting the company’s expansion.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll be instrumental in shaping the internal finance function as the business continues to grow. If you’re looking for a hands-on role with plenty of variety and responsibility from day one, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

What you'll do

  • Ownership of the Accounts Receivable process workflows from start to finish
  • Responsible for ensuring all income streams are invoiced and accounted for accurately and on a timely basis
  • Daily banking and cash allocation for ticket and other income salaries
  • Sales Ledger management and cash collection including resolving any account queries to ensure the timely collection of all monies due
  • Regular aged debtor reporting and commentary including analysis to identify risks to cash collections
  • Preparation of our weekly sales reporting for internal management use, working closely with the Head of Finance to analyse results and identify trends that can be passed onto the Commercial team
  • Support month-end close process
  • Assist the Head of Finance with departmental reporting and monitor tracking to budget
  • Preparation of quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns
  • Help develop systems and processes that support and enable a successful finance function and then constantly review and improve controls and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Help run the department in line with the company values to enable the business to achieve its goals

  • Strong academic background (minimum ABB at A-Level or equivalent, and a 2:1 degree or higher)
  • Studying towards a professional accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Previous accounts assistant (minimum of 3yrs) experience in a varied finance role, ideally within an entertainment/media or creative business including VAT exposure
  • Exceptional attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a hands-on, solutions-focused attitude
