Role: Assistant Accountant

Salary: £40,000-£50,000 base plus bonus

Hybrid Working: 2 /3 days a week in the office

This is a great role for someone part-way through their accounting qualification and is looking for a broad finance role where they can progress within the team quickly and take on further responsibility as they develop.

The business is a mid-sized Real Estate Investment Manager based in London. As part of a small finance team of 4, you will report into a very personable and experienced Head of Finance who you can learn from.

The role will take on a wide range of responsibilities ranging from AP and AR to supporting the preparation of Financial Statements. They are looking for someone who is adaptable and willing to pick up a wide range of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process all AP and AR transactions
  • Pivotal role in month end close procedures
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly VAT returns
  • Perform bank reconciliations and assist in the group treasury function
  • Supporting the Group Accountant in the preparation of Financial Statements and disclosures
  • Supporting the annual statutory audit process
  • Support external tax advisors in tax compliance matters
  • Work with the wider finance team to increase efficiency and accuracy of existing finance processes
  • Co-ordinate the continuous improvement of the financial process and control landscape
  • Support the Group Accountant with ad-hoc projects as required
