About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team at Rosemont Pharmaceuticals. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this role offers an excellent opportunity for someone early in their finance career to gain exposure across multiple areas of finance, including general ledger accounting, reporting, accounts payable, and credit control.
Working within a fast-paced pharmaceutical environment, you will play a key role in supporting period-end activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys working with data, has strong analytical skills, and is keen to develop their accounting knowledge within a growing organisation.
This is a hybrid role and requires the successful candidate to be based in our Leeds office every Tuesday and Thursday.
Study support is also available once the successful candidate has passed their probationary period.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare period-end journals across reporting entities.
- Produce financial analysis and commentary to support month-end close activities.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reconciliations to audit-ready standards.
- Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, including foreign currency revaluations.
- Support cost centre reporting for business functions, providing analysis and commentary against budget and actual performance.
- Attend meetings with business stakeholders to develop commercial understanding and finance partnering skills.
- Post weekly cash transactions and complete bank account reconciliations.
- Support invoice processing activities for holding companies.
- Assist with the year-end audit and statutory accounts process.
- Provide support for ad-hoc monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
- Raise purchase requisitions on behalf of the Finance department.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and support wider finance team activities as required.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, quality standards, and financial controls.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
