The key responsibilities for the Assistant Accountant role will include:
- Accounts Payable support
- General Ledger maintenance
- Assisting with management accounts and reconciliations
- Banking activities and cash management
- Fixed asset management
- Stock accounting and control
- VAT return preparation
- Ad hoc analytical investigations and reporting
Essential
What we’re looking for as an Assistant Accountant:
- AAT Level 4 qualified or currently studying
- Strong Excel skills (data analysis, reporting, etc.)
- Previous experience in a similar accounting role
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with accruals, prepayments and journal postings
- Balance sheet reconciliations experience
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail

Desirable (but Not Essential)
- Consolidation experience
- Exposure to year-end audits
- Intercompany accounting knowledge
- Stock accounting experience
- VAT return experience
- Multi-currency exposure
- Experience using Sage 50 and/or Factory Master
