Assistant Accountant

The Role

Our online international business is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a skilled Assistant Accountant to support this expansion. As we continue to localise our 80+ websites, you will join our Cash Accounting team to provide essential support to the finance department and maintain robust controls over our global processes.

Working at NEXT means moving at a fast pace and embracing a culture where we challenge ourselves to take on the day together. This role is a vital part of ensuring our financial stability as we reach over 8 million customers worldwide.

What You’ll Take On

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be central to our international cash accounting operations. We build on success and learn to evolve, so you will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of our financial data while we continue to reinvent our processes.

Your Focus Will Include

  • Reconciliation: Manage customer payments and VAT across multiple international entities, resolving any discrepancies quickly.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Support the accuracy of tender costs at both country and entity levels.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor daily cash inflows from our payment providers.
  • Foreign Exchange: Ensure the correct recording of FX impacts for third-party settlements.
  • Audit Support: Deliver audit sampling to ensure smooth local entity audits
  • Relationship Management: Work with third-party providers to ensure compliance with contract rates and settlement timings.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
