Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working on behalf of a well-established and highly respected acoustic consultancy in their search for an Assistant Acoustic Consultant to join their growing team in Leeds.

This independent consultancy has built an excellent reputation for delivering practical, cost-effective acoustic, noise, and vibration solutions across a diverse range of projects throughout the UK and internationally. The team has contributed to some of the country's most prestigious infrastructure and development schemes, alongside major international projects, bringing a wealth of technical expertise to every commission.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of experienced acousticians, supporting projects across architectural acoustics, environmental noise, building services (M and E) acoustics, vibration, and specialist consultancy services. The consultancy takes a pragmatic approach to acoustic design, developing tailored solutions that meet the unique requirements of each project rather than relying solely on standard guidance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career acoustician looking to develop their technical skills while working on a varied portfolio of commercial, residential, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and mixed-use developments.

The Role

  • Assisting with environmental noise surveys and monitoring.
  • Supporting architectural and building acoustics assessments.
  • Preparing technical reports and acoustic calculations.
  • Undertaking site visits and liaising with clients and project teams.
  • Assisting senior consultants in delivering projects from inception through to completion.
  • Developing knowledge of UK acoustic standards and best practice.

  • A degree in Acoustics, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • A genuine interest in building and environmental acoustics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A full UK driving license is desirable.
