Assistant Audit Manager – Accountancy Practice
Location: South Yorkshire
Salary: £45K-£55K
A growing and highly regarded accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Manager to join its collaborative team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified practice accountant who enjoys a varied role combining client management, technical delivery, team leadership, and mentorship. You'll work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients while playing a key role in supporting and developing junior members of the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Reviewing accounts, tax, VAT, and other compliance work prepared by junior team members.
- Leading and overseeing audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with statutory requirements.
- Supporting, mentoring, and developing junior members of the team.
- Assisting with workflow planning and resource management.
- Working alongside senior leadership to deliver exceptional client service.
- Supporting business development activities and identifying opportunities to add value to clients.

To be considered, you'll ideally have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment.
- Experience managing audits and overseeing client assignments.
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts and compliance work.
- Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of junior team members.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A commercial mindset with a proactive approach to client service.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
