Assistant Bid Manager
At SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK, we're helping businesses and local authorities reduce waste, protect natural resources and support a more sustainable future. We're looking for an ambitious Assistant Bid Manager to join our Municipal Development team and play a key role in helping secure major recycling, waste management and resource recovery contracts across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional who wants to develop expertise in bid management, public sector procurement and sustainability while working alongside experienced industry professionals.
Salary: £32,937 - £38,636
Benefits: 10% annual bonus, 3x life assurance, 5% employer pension contribution, 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, company sick pay and a range of additional benefits.
Location: Bristol, Maidenhead or Darwen (hybrid working – 3 days per week in the office)
About The Role
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Municipal Development, you'll support the delivery of high-quality bid submissions for local authority contracts across the recycling, waste management and environmental services sector.
Working closely with Senior Bid Managers and multidisciplinary teams, you'll help coordinate tender activities, develop bid content and contribute to technical and commercial proposals that support SUEZ's growth and sustainability ambitions.

What will I be doing?
- Support the preparation and delivery of tender submissions from pre-qualification through to contract award and mobilisation.
- Coordinate information and contributions from internal teams and external partners to ensure bids are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist in developing compelling technical and commercial responses that meet customer requirements.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and public sector customers throughout the bidding process.
- Contribute to business development projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the Municipal Development team.
What are the requirements?
- Graduate-level qualification, or equivalent, with at least one year's work experience.
- Strong written communication, organisation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience of working in a private sector bidding environment is desirable but not essential.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
