Starting from a single site in Salisbury in 1981, the business has grown to around 3,500 colleagues across more than 350 branches and sites throughout the UK. Role Description
The Assistant Branch Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at our Leeds branch. This position supports the Branch Manager in day-to-day operations, including supervising colleagues, overseeing customer service, and ensuring the branch is well-presented and safely maintained.

- Helping manage stock levels
- Coordinating deliveries
- Monitoring sales performance
- Implementing promotional activities
- Resolving customer queries
- Supporting trade account management
- Assisting with training and development of team members
The Assistant Branch Manager contributes to meeting branch targets and maintaining compliance with company policies and health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in branch or retail supervision, including team leadership, staff scheduling, and performance support.
- Background in trade, plumbing, heating, or building supplies, with the ability to understand product ranges and customer needs.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with confidence in handling queries, complaints, and trade accounts.
- Operational skills in stock control, merchandising, and basic sales reporting or KPI monitoring.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across roles and levels.
- Organizational and problem-solving abilities, including attention to detail and a proactive approach to day-to-day issues.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, warehouse/branch environment and adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems and standard office applications.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or keyholder role is preferred; management or trade-related qualifications are an advantage.
