Job Posting Title: Assistant Branch Manager

Salary Band: £28,815 - £35,937 LC2

Job Description

About the Role

We’re bringing mutual savings, mortgages and financial advice for all back to the Greater Manchester region. Following our merger with Manchester Building Society in 2023, we returned to the high street in September 2025, with our flagship King Street branch. That was just the beginning of a new era!

We have made great progress in our long-term goal to immerse our society into the fabric of Manchester. Engaging new members to join the movement through face-to-face financial services, enabling us to make a real difference in the local community.

We now have a leadership opportunity as our King Street Assistant Branch Manager, enabling you to make a significant contribution to our growth. In return you will have the opportunity to develop and progress your career, ready to take the lead in a future Branch Manager role as we grow our branch network across Greater Manchester.

Mutually inclusive, made by our members, as Manchester Building Society, part of Newcastle Building Society Group, we will provide savings and mortgage products with personal customer service and face-to-face financial guidance and advice open to all, not just the wealthy.

Within this role, you will support the Branch Manager in the day to day running of our city centre branch, encouraging and coaching colleagues and often acting as a Deputy when required. This opportunity will also involve managing the Branch to achieve business results by establishing and building long term relationships with our customers whilst providing a friendly and professional service.

You will take personal ownership in applying the Branch 'understanding needs process', suggesting options that customers may consider as well as qualifying leads for the relevant advice specialists.

You will have plenty of opportunities to have a positive impact across Greater Manchester through attendance of charity and networking events, leadership of pop-up activity across the city region and supporting communities through delivering community talks on a variety of financial educational topics.

About You

As a credible people leader, you will have first class communication skills, as well as a natural ability to motivate and lead from the front. Your strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills will see your team maintain the very highest levels of customer satisfaction and customer advocacy we strive for.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
