Assistant Branch Manager
Total Plumbing Supplies – (Part of IBMG)

Location: Chard
Full-Time | Alternate Saturdays

About Us

Founded in 2001, Total Plumbing Supplies provides plumbing and heating products with customer service at its core.
As part of the Independent Builders Merchants Group (IBMG), we support plumbing and heating professionals with trusted product availability, expertise, and advice.
Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an Assistant Branch Manager to join our Chard branch.

The Role

As Assistant Branch Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day running of a busy plumbing and heating branch.
Working closely with the Branch Manager, you’ll help lead the team, drive sales, and deliver outstanding customer service.
This is a hands-on role combining leadership, sales, customer service, and operational support.

What You’ll Be Doing

Customer & Sales

  • Serve customers at the trade counter and over the phone
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times
  • Support the delivery of the branch sales plan

Operations

  • Support goods in/out and general branch duties
  • Assist with stock control, levels, and replenishment
  • Help maintain smooth and efficient daily operations

Team Support

  • Supervise and motivate the team
  • Support the Branch Manager in improving performance
  • Provide cover in the Branch Manager’s absence

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure safe working practices are followed
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and compliance

Experience

  • Experience in a supervisory or team leader role
  • Background in plumbing and heating supplies (preferred)

  • Ability to build strong relationships

Working Hours

  • Monday–Friday: 07:00–17:00
  • Alternate Saturdays (rota basis)
