AtkinsRéalis is a world-leading design, engineering, and project management organisation. Our Buildings & Places team delivers high-profile construction and refurbishment projects across the UK and internationally. We are seeking a motivated Graduate / Assistant Building Surveyor to join our expanding Building Surveying Practice. This role offers exceptional career development, including structured support for Chartership (RICS), technical training, and access to advanced digital tools.

As part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team, you’ll contribute to the delivery of refurbishments, maintenance projects, and capital projects while upholding high standards in quality, health & safety, and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Professional Services

  • Conduct condition, measured, and defect surveys across sectors including public, private, education, defence, government, and infrastructure.
  • Prepare professional reports, value engineering schedules, technical specifications, and drawings (using digital tools like AutoCAD or Revit where applicable).
  • Support technical due diligence and sustainability assessments, including CDM 2015 compliance and Building Safety Act requirements.
  • Stay current with industry developments, statutory compliance, and best practice in refurbishment, maintenance, and capital projects.

Project Delivery

  • Assisting with project management and contract administration, including JCT and NEC contract administration.
  • Support client liaisons across project lifecycle phases, including tender evaluation, contract negotiation, and post-project reviews.
  • Contribute to refurbishment, small-to-medium capital, and maintenance projects, ensuring alignment with design intent and quality standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
