The Business Advisory & Accounting Assistant will support qualified staff, managers and senior managers in the delivery of accounting and advisory services to a varied portfolio of clients.

The role provides exposure to management reporting, financial statement preparation, corporation tax, bookkeeping and day-to-day finance support, enabling the individual to build strong technical foundations and develop an understanding of how clients’ businesses operate.

The role will also involve developing professional relationships with clients and, over time, taking increasing responsibility for day-to-day client interaction. As experience and professional studies progress, the individual will be expected to assume broader responsibilities and contribute to more complex assignments.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP and IFRS. Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports for a varied client base. Undertake bookkeeping, reconciliations and day-to-day finance support using software such as Xero, QuickBooks and NetSuite. Prepare working papers and maintain accurate accounting records to support client deliverables. Assist with VAT, employer taxes and basic corporation tax compliance. Develop technical knowledge and continue building accounting, finance and advisory skills appropriate to the role. Manage assigned work effectively, ensuring delivery to agreed deadlines and assuming increasing responsibility as appropriate. Communicate with clients on routine matters, respond to queries in a timely and professional manner, and escalate issues where appropriate. Work closely with colleagues and clients to support the delivery of a high-quality, responsive service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
