Job Title: Assistant Buyer
Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire
Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP35,000 per year + Training and Development
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Closing date: 24th July 2026
Are you organised, detail-oriented, and enjoy streamlining processes? As an Assistant Buyer, you'll play a key role in ensuring efficient order management across our sites and ERP systems.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, family-owned business that's growing at pace. You'll manage day-to-day material and plant orders in a fast-paced, reactive environment, build supplier relationships, drive cost-reducing activities, and support continuous improvement across the business.
Danaher and Walsh is a reputable Civil Engineering business specialising in infrastructure, public projects and utilities, operating primarily across the central parts of England. This role comes with genuine self-sufficiency and real scope to grow and develop as the company expands.

Key Responsibilities
- Raise and issue material and plant orders based on specifications
- Assist with the Lean procurement process
- Work within a team and support other departments
- Maintain and build new supplier relationships
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities
Candidate Requirements
- Previous buying/procurement experience
- Background in Engineering, Construction, Utilities, Civils or Infrastructure
- Proficient in Microsoft packages
- Strong phone manner
- Ability to prioritise effectively
