Positioned within the commercial team, you will be right in the centre of a fast-paced team. As an Assistant Buyer within the Mobile team, you will be working with market-leading brands, supporting the Buyer and Senior Buyer to bring the most compelling range and great value products to our customers. This role will be responsible for managing the range at SKU level and working closely with the Buyer, Senior Buyer, Merchandising, Online and GTM teams to drive sales and profitability of the category. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has a sharp eye for detail, who enjoys working in a busy department and with the ability to work autonomously.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Helping to manage supplier relationships in line with the category strategy
  • Keeping tabs on the competition so we can set competitive prices
  • Analysing trading performance and recommending actions to drive our business
  • Supporting the Buyer and Senior Buyer in negotiating product ranges – cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, stock availability
  • Pricing the product range in line with agreed category CPI targets
  • Responsible for answering any store feedback specific to range and promotions
  • Responsible for daily competitor checks to ensure the team is aware of any activity in the market

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Established experience in Buying within a commercial function (Assistant Buyer level)
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • To be organised, analytical, and numerate with good judgment
  • Strong commercial awareness and a sense of customer needs
  • Excellent Excel and Microsoft Suite skills
