As the UK’s best-known retailer of tech, we’re proud of the service our customers receive—and it’s all down to our 25,000+ caring and committed colleagues. Working as one team, we learn and grow together, celebrating the big and small moments that make every day amazing.

The Role

Positioned within the commercial team, you’ll be at the heart of a fast-paced environment, collaborating with operations and go-to-market teams while fostering strong relationships with our supplier partners.

As Assistant Buyer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Selecting and negotiating product ranges, pricing, terms, conditions, and business investments.
  • Ensuring cost-effective pricing and promotions that align with customer needs while maximising margin, sales, and competitive differentiation.
  • Driving forward the dropship business through strategic decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.

You’ll also manage an extended product range, requiring a willingness to learn about products and market trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside suppliers to refine the category strategy, aligning offerings with customer demands and market trends.
  • Develop and execute a sourcing strategy to introduce the best product ranges while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Negotiate product ranges, costs, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, and stock availability with distributors.
  • Secure competitive financial terms (both fixed and variable) related to product and promotional activity.
  • Champion strong promotional funding opportunities to boost sales without compromising margins.
  • Adhere to CPI targets while securing product differentiation against competitors.
  • Lead pricing strategy while ensuring operational and customer satisfaction excellence.
  • Collaborate with the returns team to establish robust agreements that balance customer service and cost minimisation.
  • Utilise market and customer data to develop tailored range and promotional plans that foster long-term customer loyalty.
  • Resolve supplier-related challenges (cost, pricing, stock, and queries) efficiently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
