Assistant Campus Principal & Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
OneSchool Global UK has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Campus Principal & Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join our Ashbrook Campus in Coventry. This is a key role in driving educational excellence, student wellbeing, and safeguarding across the school.
This is a high-profile leadership position within the Campus Leadership Team, directly supporting the Campus Principal in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the campus. The successful candidate will help ensure outstanding teaching and learning, promote a positive and inclusive school culture, and lead on safeguarding practices as the appointed Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
As a senior leader, you will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of academic achievement, supporting staff development, strengthening student welfare, and ensuring compliance with statutory safeguarding requirements. You will also contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and help uphold OneSchool Global's values and ethos.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & School Improvement
- Support the Campus Principal in the leadership and management of the campus and drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning, student attainment, and progress.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, inspiration, and support to teaching and support staff.
- Promote and develop learner wellbeing across all key stages.
- Contribute to the School Improvement Plan, self-evaluation, and campus performance reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Independent School Standards and inspection requirements.
- Line manage allocated staff, including performance management, appraisal, induction, and probation processes.
Teaching & Learning
- Maintain high-quality classroom teaching aligned with the Teachers' Standards.
- Support staff in delivering engaging, differentiated, and inclusive lessons.
- Promote self-directed learning and effective use of digital learning platforms.
- Act as Form Tutor for a designated year group where required.
- Lead and facilitate staff CPD, coaching, and mentoring opportunities.

Safeguarding & Student Welfare (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead)
- Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in leading safeguarding and child protection across the campus.
- Act as a source of advice, guidance, and support for staff on safeguarding matters and manage safeguarding concerns, referrals, and record-keeping in line with statutory guidance.
- Liaise with external agencies including Children's Social Care, Police, Early Help Services, Local Authorities, and safeguarding partners where appropriate.
- Support safeguarding investigations, strategy discussions, and multi-agency meetings.
- Monitor vulnerable students and contribute to plans that promote their safety, wellbeing, attendance, and educational outcomes.
About You
We are looking for an experienced educational leader who is passionate about student achievement, staff development, and safeguarding excellence.
You will demonstrate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and a relevant degree.
- Significant teaching experience across Key Stages 3-5.
- Experience in a leadership, middle leadership, or senior leadership role within an educational setting.
- Current Designated Safeguarding Lead training (or willingness to achieve this immediately upon appointment).
- Prevent Duty training and strong safeguarding knowledge.
- Excellent understanding of:
- Keeping Children Safe in Education
- Working Together to Safeguard Children
- Independent School Standards
- Safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance
- Experience of using data to drive school improvement and student outcomes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and organisational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
