About STEM for Kids UK
STEM for Kids UK helps children aged 5 to 15 explore robotics, coding, engineering, and technology through a fun, hands-on, project-based approach. At our Buckhurst Hill centre, we want children to feel excited, confident, and curious. Our sessions are designed to make STEM accessible and enjoyable, helping young learners build problem-solving skills, creativity, resilience, and a love of learning. We are now looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Centre Manager to help us grow the centre, support our students and parents, and be part of a positive, ambitious team.
About the role
This is a varied role combining centre operations, parent communication, student support, team coordination, and hands-on involvement in our STEM programmes. You do not need to be a robotics or coding expert from day one. What matters most is that you are organised, warm, dependable, great with children and parents, and excited to learn. You will work closely with the Centre Manager to ensure the centre runs smoothly and that every child has a safe, engaging, and memorable learning experience.
Key responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the centre
- Welcoming students and parents and creating a warm, professional environment
- Communicating with parents about classes, progress, bookings, trials, and queries
- Helping manage class schedules, attendance, resources, and centre administration
- Supporting instructors during sessions where needed
- Helping maintain high standards of teaching, safety, behaviour, and student engagement
- Assisting with trial classes, open days, holiday camps, and local events
- Supporting student retention and helping families understand the value of our programmes
- Helping prepare learning materials, equipment, and classroom spaces
- Contributing ideas to improve the student and parent experience
- Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety, and centre policies are followed at all times

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
