Assistant Chef (Bank), Glencairn

Now Recruiting: Assistant Chef Glencairn Care Home, Edinburgh.

Catering within Renaissance Care is an award-winning team that prioritises inclusion, creativity and nutrition.

Hours of work: 0 (Bank)

As an assistant chef in one of our care homes, your duties will include supporting and working alongside the head chef in leading the kitchen team to prepare healthy and nutritious seasonal meals for our residents as well as catering for those with any specialist dietary requirements. You will have plenty of opportunity to put your interest and passion for food to good use.

You will be experienced in food preparation and cooking, ensuring a range of options are available at mealtimes for our residents to choose from. You will be responsible for checking and maintaining kitchen equipment, reporting any damages or breakages to the maintenance team or home manager. You will supervise the kitchen team to work within COSHH and HACCP regulations and maintaining the highest hygiene standards and ensuring infection control protocols are followed in the kitchen.

Requirements

An essential aspect of the role is upholding the values of People, Friendly, Passionate and Inclusion. To be successful in this role you will have proven experience working in a kitchen and supervising staff. Preferably you will have experience in a similar role or experience cooking for large groups and menu planning as well.
