Long recognised as one of the top performing forces in the UK, Durham Constabulary is seeking an exceptional Assistant Chief Officer (Finance) to join the Force Executive team.

About the Role
As a core member of the Force Executive, you will report to the Deputy Chief Constable and assume S151 statutory responsibility for the Chief Constable, overseeing Finance, Estates, and Business Administration Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the Chief Constable and senior leadership, ensuring efficiency, innovation, and best practice across enabling services.
- Shape the modernisation agenda by redesigning how enabling services are structured and integrated, ensuring smoother, more effective processes.
- Drive cross-system collaboration to enhance the Constabulary’s operational performance through technology and service alignment.

Essential Requirements

- A CCAB (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) accreditation or equivalent financial qualification.
- Substantial senior-level experience in public-sector or police financial governance.
- An ability to navigate political and vetting challenges, as the position is restricted by police standards.
